The CEO of the NEOM project, Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasr, called on young men and women of business to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in NEOM, stressing that the work team is fully prepared to train and qualify them for the future needs of the project.

Al-Nasr said during the "My Experience" program organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Business Youth Council on Sunday evening, April 9, 2023, that the NEOM project was designed to be constantly evolving and investigating everything new to infinity, indicating that the project implementation stages are multiple and require different capabilities at each stage.

Engineer Nazmi Al-Nasr talked about his beginnings, especially the stages of education and work, and the most prominent challenges and achievements in his life, leading to the NEOM project, in a meeting that witnessed the presence of the President of the Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Suleiman Al-Ruzaiza, and the Chairman of the Youth Business Council, Saad bin Khaled Al-Moajel, and the participation of a large number of the business sector, interested persons and media professionals, indicating That luck played a major role in his life, as is the case with his generation who lived through the first boom of the Kingdom, which witnessed the golden phase after the discovery of oil.

Al-Nasr said during the meeting, which was moderated by the journalist at Al-Ikhbaria channel, Muhammad bin Saad,
When he was studying in secondary school, he was passionate and related to energy and chemical engineering matters, and he used to say that this is the future, so he decided to join the University of Petroleum and study chemical engineering in the year 1973 AD, and from there to Aramco University.
And about the most prominent challenges he faced during his scientific and practical career, especially in that period when the capabilities that are available to the children of today's generation are not available, he said that he faced the first challenge in his life when he graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals with a major in "Chemical Engineering" in the year 1978 AD and went to a company Aramco until he applied for the available job and was surprised by his acceptance directly, and after 12 days had passed, he went to his line manager, who had not paid him any attention at the beginning of his work, and told him that he specialized in chemical engineering and not civil, as he was working in construction, so his manager told him that he holds a certificate and is not a specialist yet, And that if he wants to have an interest in the future, he must learn in the field of work, and Al-Nasr said: I asked him about the core of my specialty and I did not know the answer, and he told me to go and learn to become something prestigious. Hence my starting point.

Al-Nasr stopped by the Shaybah field and the great challenge that the work team faced at the time, as the field was discovered in 1968 AD, and work was not done to develop it until 1995 AD, and Al-Nasr said that the project decided for him to be completed within 5 years with a budget estimated at five million dollars, and he formed a team of 55 engineers, including 50 Saudi engineers, and with the determination of the men and their high patriotic sense that I saw daily in their eyes, we were able to complete the development of the field in three years and a quarter of the approved budget, and under Saudi management.
It is noteworthy that Eng. Al-Nasr assumed leadership of several strategic projects in Saudi Aramco, and in 2006 AD, he supervised the development work of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) before he devoted himself to the university in 2013, and in mid-2018 AD, Eng. Al-Nasr began heading the NEOM project, which is the cornerstone of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, to lead the company's bold and ambitious program, and to make NEOM an economic engine and a global center for innovation and business projects to build the future.
During the meeting, the head of the Youth Business Council, Saad bin Khaled Al-Mojil, said: The Council has a growing role in developing future entrepreneurs from the region, by monitoring their experiences, ideas, and innovations to embody them in investment projects of added value to the national economy.
Al-Mojil stated that the Council has achieved, over its previous years, many achievements in serving the youth business sector, by enriching their economic knowledge and increasing their skills in self-employment. This meeting comes with a national figure who has completed many ambitious projects and spent many years working with international engineering and consulting companies. And he has a professional career full of experiences, which is an opportunity for us as young businessmen to learn from the experience and career of a young woman whose giving is continuing.
